The score for Despite The Falling Snow, is probably one of Rachel Portman's most haunting works, it may not have the obvious delicate and melodious flourishes that we hear in other scores such as The Cider House Rules but does have a wealth of gracious yet chilling musical statements, which can be just as affecting, tantalising, and expressive.
